Club Awards
Eric Sohnle Award
Eric was an active member from 1956 to his death in 1992. He ran the fly tying sessions for the Club for twenty consecutive years, held every position on the executive, was active in all the Club's social functions and outings, and personally engraved all the club awards and trophies.
The membership felt it important to establish an award in his name to present to individuals in the Club who illustrate the same commitment and dedication that Eric did.
Written nominations must be provided to the Nominating Committee that is comprised of past recipients of the award:

Founder's Trophy
Regulations
Given each year for the best trout caught between November 1st and October 31st in the Province of Alberta by a paid-up member of the Edmonton Trout Club.
It is restricted to the following species: Brook Trout, Brown Trout, Cutthroat Trout, Bull Trout, Rainbow Trout and Golden Trout.
While it is preferred that the trout be caught on a fly, there is no restriction on other lures or methods, but the fish must be legally caught as specified by the Alberta Government Regulations. To determine the winner, the fish must achieve the highest percentage points based on provincial trophy record currently published.
Fish must be weighed on an official of Government approved scale and verified as to weight and size. An official form or reasonable facsimile must be turned in to and Executive member no later than November 8th. All entries become property of the Edmonton Trout Fishing Club and will also be entered in the Alberta Fish and Game Competitions.
